Backlinks For Increasing Your Page Rank

Having a great website is only part of having an Internet presence. If no-one can get to your site when searching then you may as well not spend any time building your site.
The most important thing that you can do to have an effective web site is have other web sites link to it. There are two different types of links, reciprocal links and one way links. Both are easy and effective strategies to building traffic but one is much more powerful than the other - one-way links.
Reciprocal links are when you link to a site and that web site also links back to your site. This was a common type of linking a few years ago and is still commonly used. Many site owners get great traffic by using in a link exchange service or system created just for reciprocal links. A link exchange is a group of website owners that exchange links with one another.
The other type of linking is called one-way linking. This is when one site links to your site; however you do not place a link back. Sometimes you may agree to exchange links to different sites which is called an n-way link exchange. Google definitely favors this type of linking compared to reciprocal linking. But, it is very difficult to get a one-way link. There are three chief strategies for getting one-way links: submit your website to directories, give away something significant that includes your link, pay for a link on another high ranking page.
1. Adding inbound links by submitting your web site to directories is usually free unless you decide to upgrade. Directories are special web sites that list other web sites that visitors may be interested in and are usually hand edited so they have more authoritative weight in the search engine formulas. There are software applications that can help with the boring process of filling out directory web forms. One of the least expensive is Directory Site Submitter.
Directory Site Submitter will let you set up and manage multiple projects with multiple web sites per project and then help you submit to over 400 free directories. The backlinks from these sites will be important for SEO reasons more than actual traffic.
2. One of the best solutions is to give something of value away that includes your link. Articles are very popular because so many website owners need site content. They are cheap to create and can be effective at building one-way links to your website.
3. Avoid purchasing links on websites for SEO purposes. It can cost up to $100 a month or more to put your link on a high pagerank site and it still may not count in the search engine formula. Google has frequently said that buying direct links will not be of value for SEO. But, you may still use this technique to drive traffic from a high traffic site to your website.
The truth is that if you are trying to build long term income, it is going to take some time before your website becomes profitable. A long term strategy for a web site may take six months or even a year for it to start generating income. It is also important to start getting back links at once. Choose your links carefully. Make sure that you are not getting links from low level websites, scraper web sites or links from bad neighborhoods.
Remember, in today’s competitive Internet environment, if you would like a successful website then you have to do at least as much or more SEO than the websites on the first page of search engine results.

Concerning backlinks and SEO, I must say, the Internet’s not the friendly place it used to be…
Looks like everthing now is automated…from social bookmarking to rss feeds.
I’ve been following Comment and Syndicate Kahuna for some time now, and I guess my question would be, what separates your “system” from the likes of RSS2Blog?
It’s all about RSS right, both automated…one has an upfront cost, whilst the other offers monthly subscription.
I would be interested to note the difference here.

SK and CK have nothing to do with rss. Syndicate Kahuna is simply a way of building back links by posting your posts on related bogs each with a link to your own blog posts.
Comment Kahuna makes finding and posting comments on related blog posts easier.
RSS2Blog builds spammy blogs by posting other folks work via rss
